An occasion to reflect on the Paschal Mistery
The exhibition featuring Sergio Rodella’s Man of the Shroud and Albano Poli’s Christ of Hope offers an extraordinary opportunity to enter into the mystery of Christ’s Passion, Death, and Resurrection.
These works, born from a profound exploration of the relationship between art, science, and spirituality, offer visitors a unique opportunity to reflect on the heart of the Christian message.
Initiated by Cardinal Juan José Omella, the exhibition guides viewers through a journey of reflection on the mystery of Easter.

The Man of the Shroud, a unique scupture
The Man of the Shroud is a sculpture created by Sergio Rodella from the image on the Shroud of Turin. It is a three-dimensional icon of Christ that, through the process of wrapping the cloth around the figure, has been shown to be consistent with the Shroud.
Many artists have attempted to depict and represent the Man on the Shroud as faithfully and accurately as possible. For many, however, the process was primarily artistic. Others, using the means available to them, ventured into more precise studies, though their results did not always correspond to what has since been discovered.
From imprint to form. This was the creative process that occupied Sergio Rodella for more than two years. The image on the Shroud provided the starting point for the artist’s creative and scientific journey. Measurements, distances, and proportions were gathered and then transformed from a two-dimensional surface into a three-dimensional space.

Albano Poli’s Christ of Hope: A Contemporary Iconography Bringing Together the Passion and the Resurrection
The Christ of Hope was created in response to the Church’s concern for those who suffer. In 2012, during the Year of Faith, the Pontifical Council for Pastoral Assistance to Health Care Workers sought, through this image, to present once again the One who, in a unique and universal way, became “close” to all humanity.
In light of the particular attention Pope Francis devoted to those who suffer and to the people who care for them, Master Albano Poli was asked to create an artistic crucifix. The work is, at the same time, a sign of Jesus’ participation in human suffering and of the hope that only God can give and instill—hope for those who experience the mystery of illness and suffering, for their families, and for all those who work in health care in various professional capacities.

The Sagrada Família: When Nature Inspires Art and Creation Meets the Creator
The Expiatory Temple of the Sagrada Família, a masterpiece of Antoni Gaudí’s architecture, is the ideal setting for this exhibition. The architect’s vision, deeply inspired by nature as an expression of divine creation, enters into harmonious dialogue with these works of sacred art, creating a bridge between the past, present, and future of the Christian faith.
Faith: the 2025 Jubilee of Hope
The exhibition forms part of the 2025 Jubilee of Hope, which draws the faithful from around the world to rediscover the value of faith in an era marked by change and uncertainty. The works of Sergio Rodella and Albano Poli thus become instruments of meditation and prayer, accompanying pilgrims toward a renewed spiritual awareness.
